Good deeds Day is a global movement that aims to awaken in people the engagement in different social causes through a great artistic cultural event and volunteer opportunities. Present in over 70 countries, it is held in Brazil by Atados and produced by Muda Cultural. In its third edition in the Country, the Good Share Day will be held on 04/15/2018 and will mark the opening of social actions that will happen until 04/22/2018. Here's how it was in 2017:
Good Deeds Day was initiated in 2007 by businesswoman and philanthropist, Shari Arison, and launched and organized by Ruach Tova (NGO), a part of The Ted Arison Family Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Arison Group. “I believe that if people will think good, speak good and do good, the circles of goodness will grow in the world. Good Deeds Day has become the leading day of giving and this year individuals, school children, students, soldiers and employees from many businesses are joining in for the annual Good Deeds Day with the aim of doing a good deed for others,” says Shari Arison.
The evolution of good deeds day
Good Actions Day is taking over the world! Since its inception in 2007, this annual tradition has grown from 7,000 participants in Israel in 2007 to almost 1 million in 2015. Becoming international in 2011 has reached 10 more cities around the world, many in the United States. Thus, the Good deeds Day began to unite people all over the world. In 2012, we arrived in Europe and partnered with MTV Global for a six-week campaign on its online and television platforms, broadcasting to 24 million viewers worldwide. By 2013, 16,000 volunteers from 50 countries participated in hundreds of projects, including ABC Network in New York. In 2014, Good Deeds Day doubled its reach, re-counting with ABC Network NYC and collaborating with volunteer organizations as part of a large-scale campaign involving TV, radio, and social media. 1,500,000 people participated in Israel and about 35,000 in the world. Good Deeds Day continued to gain momentum and held its biggest event on April 2, 2017, when 2,500,000 participants from 93 countries got involved in 20,000 projects, totaling more than 6.7 million hours of service.
